Is Postbox Courier operating courier services during the global Covid19 situation?
We will continue to operate during the innumerous worldwide lockdowns, however there are fewer flights available and the rapid transit times you are accustomed to might not be attainable. Please check with customer support by email or phone to check on specific origins and see how can help you.
What is a Personal Postbox?
It is similar to a regular postbox in that it accepts delivery of items addressed to you, but only a Post Office can access and deliver to a regular Postbox. Your Personal Postbox is located at a physical address (within our receiving depots) and can accept items delivered by local postal services, couriers, taxis etc. Your Personal Postbox can effectively sign for goods received, for added peace of mind. You can view a list of received items in your Personal Postbox whilst logged in to your Parcel Manager.
What does it cost me to register with Postbox-Courier?
It doesn’t cost you anything. Registration is free and we don’t charge any recurring account management fees. It’s a straightforward Pay As You Go service.
How do I Register with Postbox-Courier?
Simply complete the Registration form on our home page. Provide your first and last name, your email address, password and your country. When you sign up, we’ll send you an email containing a link to activate your account. Clicking on the link verifies your email address and enables you to login.
Where do I find my Postbox Addresses?
After registering and activating your account, you will be able to login. Click on any of the links to “view your Personal Postbox addresses here,” and your unique addresses will be displayed on screen. Your address includes your name and a unique Dept. number which we use to identify your parcel and allocate it to your account upon arrival. Your Dept. number is the same at each of our global depots.
Can I combine several items from different suppliers?
Yes you can! Whenever you send something to one of your Postbox addresses, you will need to login to your Parcel Manager and notify us of the incoming item, using the Parcel Pre-Alert. We generate a unique Parcel ID for each notification we receive and you then have the option to group any number of parcels into a single consignment.
When and how do I pay for the service?
When items arrive in your Postbox, we will send you an email confirming the costs and inviting you to login and make payment. You can click straight through to your Parcel Manager from a link in the email. Look out for the PayPal button next to the corresponding shipment, then just click it and follow the prompts.
How long will it take for my shipment to be delivered in South Africa?
From our UK depot we deliver to South Africa within 3-4 working days. From the US & Hong Kong we deliver within 4-6 working days. These transit times do not include any delays we may experience due to Customs Clearance or Customs Inspection. Having said that, such delays are few and far between and we will always keep you in the loop if your parcel is affected.
Does the Postbox-Courier charge include South African Import duties & taxes?
It does not include import duties & taxes, or any additional charges incurred in relation to South African Customs Clearance. All shipments with a value greater than ZAR500.00 are considered ‘high value’ and will be subject to import VAT and possibly import duty (duty is only payable on certain commodities, but VAT will apply to all shipments with a high value). In the event that Customs levy Import TAX and duty, we will pay this on your behalf and ask you to reimburse us locally, prior to delivery.
Are there any restrictions or limitations on the size of my package?
For our regular courier service, the maximum weight per individual piece is 30kgs. We are able to handle heavier items, but they would be sent via a cargo service and would be priced differently. Please contact Customer Services if you wish to discuss these options further.
